Fantastic. Stands up to the classic status of Dune Series. The book in which the fall of the Messiah Paul Atriedes' Muad Dib empire happens. And another by Leto II takes the universe into a supposed golden era for all!
Paul has walked off into the desert, after going blind, to escape from his visions of the fall of his empire. In his stand, his sister Alia assumes a God-like status and addicted to melange spice, she becomes an abomination. She is born with all the memories of all her ancestors and in her weakness and state of despair, let's them take control of her consciousness. Paul and Chani's children, Leto II and Ghanima are left in her protection and they also possess all the memories of their ancestors. They master the art of control better than their aunt, Alia and are not slaves to the prescience induced through spice. Leto and Ghanima part ways when their lives are threatened. Leto goes off into the desert and aided by his visions, brings about a series of events that put him in a non human, singly ruling monarch on the throne of Arrakis.
I am very eager to read the next book in this classic series. I felt this book has clarified a lot of my questions which lingered from the book 2. Though this one is longer to read, it is fully satisfying!
