I found this story very gripping. I would have given it a 5 star rating if the ending didn't confuse me fully. I was combobulated as to who is to be trusted and who did what. The questions that are raised had more blanks than answers. The main character is so totally confused as to who is what. She sees each person for their faults as well as merits and can't make a choice against them!

Evangeline Fox is raised up on fairy tales, lovely affairs and happy endings. Her step sister, Marisol, on the other hand, has a very cruel and critical mother that wants her daughter to snag a wealthy suitor for her not so good looking and not good for anything daughter. When Eva falls in love with Luc and wants to marry him for a happy ever after, Marisol uses some love spell on Luc and makes him her suitor and beau. Heartbroken and distraught, Eva prays to a Fate, a prince of hearts, Jacks to stop the wedding. He extracts a promise from her to fulfill three of his commands/kisses when the time arises. She accepts for the bargain. Little does she know that the deal would decide the course of her life and seals her fate. Eventually, Eva gets sent to the North as an embassador and through the influence of Jacks, the prince of North, Apollo falls madly, obsessively in love with her. He is bewitched by her. What is the prophecy of the North that Eva is unwittingly a part of? What does Jacks want from her .. should she open the vault or no? What will happen if she does what Jacks wants?

Intriguing read!
