I searched for avenues and reasons to cut off some points from the book rating but the story is so compelling, the writing so refreshing and plot so gripping that I succumbed and eventually gave it a 5 pointer. This book is a great improvement over the first book in the series, Vicious. I simply couldn't wait to get to the end. I wanted to know what is the fate of the two villain-heroes Eli Cardale and Victor Vale. I wanted to know how the author has written off this book  .. since this is the second book of the series. And now that I know, I must say I can breathe easy and my pulse returned to normal rate. Or maybe this is me just being over the top, dramatic queen and all. :) 

Victor Vale is brought back to life by Sydney Clarke but he is glitched. He suffers multiple seizures and short deaths each day. He is desperately searching for a cure. He stocks up all the anti seizure drugs and consults with many doctors tracking them down on their record but nothing helps. While this is going on, Eli Cardale is held up in a lab with a fanatical doctor conducting rigorous testing on what might break him and end his regenerative capability. In the outside world which is not inhabited by them, a woman with flair for show off and grandeur arises from death as a newbie EO. Her name is Marcella Morgan/Riggins. She is imbued with a power that is unstoppable. She teams up with two more EOs forming a formidable and unbreakable alliance. She is a force that is absolutely fueled by ambition and should be stopped. As events turn out, both Eli and Victor must join forces with or without the EON(a government unit formed to neutralize the Extraordinaries) to take over Marcella's team. 

I liked how it ended. Perhaps there cannot be an alternative ending.  What with both the heros also being villains. Loved this book! Do check it out.
