The Vampire Diaries Awakening + Struggle by L.J.Smith

 The Vampire Diaries

The Awakening + The Struggle (390 pages Paperback)

By L.J.Smith

Rating : 4/5 😄😄😄😄

Genre : Vampires, Young Adult, Fantasy, Fiction, High school Drama.

Stefan Salvatore is the new student at the high school in Fells Church - a fictitious town founded centuries ago. He is shrouded in mystery for everyone who wants to know him. He looks brooding, introverted and lets no one into his private world. Elena is the most popular girl in the school and she gets what she wants - usually. Until she comes across Stefan. She realizes that he is as drawn towards her as she is but is keeping his distance. She wants to find out his secret and also the reason why bad things started happening in her town since his arrival. Is he the cause behind them or is there someone else? 😉🤔

Two vampires - Stefan and Damon Salvatore - united by their brotherly bond vie for the hand of a woman in the past. That woman was the reason they have turned vampires. Now they rekindle their battle for the hand of Elena - each without the knowledge of the other initially and then take it way too far once they find out. 🤐 Where Stefan is self repressive, sometimes self loathing and inhibited, Damon is over indulgent, non apologetic and totally fine with the way of life he leads and the trouble he causes. Damon is hot like raging fire and Stefan is cold and insipid like a block of ice.

This book has been on TBR list ever since I watched the season 1 of the very popular TV series. I didn't expect it to be very much modified and altered on screen. Many of the scenes and names, character relationships are changed from the book. Nevertheless, both are intriguing and gripping in their own ways. The book lives upto the expectations - I can't imagine a more weak vampire on paper than Stefan and felt a bit incredulous that a character like Elena would choose him over the very powerful and mascot of darkness Damon. But what happens and whom she ends up with..the rest of the books only could tell! Very eager to read on!! 💖💯🤗

The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough book review

The Thorn Birds  By Colleen McCullough  Rating 3.75/5 Genres : Australia, Vatican city, Cardinal, Romance, Generational fiction, Historical fiction  Bah. I dont know. I felt this is just an ok sort of book. The only aspect that stirred me and struck a chord with me is the all encompassing, soul level love between Maggie and Father Ralph de Bricassart. Everything else - no matter how juicy, emotional or dramatic just failed to make an impact. The story covers the lives of three generations of women of the Cleary/Armstrong family line - their cherished dreams and dashed hopes, their hurts and heartbreaks over unrequited, failed loves..their finally getting what they wanted but it not being fully enough.. well, it sounds and feels like a roller coaster.  And whats more..there is plenty of repeat in the events of their lives..what has happened to the mother, happens to the daughter and so on..  Coming to the story. Maggie Cleary is brought up with a bunch of brothers in a very p

Book Review : The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand

The Perfect Couple  By Elin Hildebrand  (Nantucket #3) Published Year : 2018 Page Count: 347 pages  Medium Used: Kindle PW  Genre : Romance, Mystery, Suspense, Psychological Thriller, Drama, Crime, 2024-read.  Rating : 4/5  The ending is such an anticlimax and a let down for me - it almost feels like being cheated. I got so high and invested in the narrative..I lost sleep for most of last night and was reading all day since I got up this morning. The character development is ooof .. the characters are filled with life, credulity and fly off the page into the reader's mind space. I loved the layout of the narrative. I loved the writing.  I would have liked if the mother of the family was a bit on the negative side as well. I mean, really, having Nicole Kidman play the role and making it all cute, nice and kind, compassionate is like wasting enormous talent. I picked this book because I saw an ad that there is a limited series coming up on Netflix starring Nicole Kidman and other in
